What kind of pre-press choices do we offer?

The short answer is everything it takes to transform the art on your electronic disk into a printed piece. Specifically, we do the following:
  Pre-flighting
A routine check to verify all of a document's elements and find any potential file problems. During pre-flight, we also correct minor file preparation errors, typically at no additional charge. MAC or IBM-compatible disk files are processed from virtually any popular disk type (Zip, Jazz, Syquest, CD, etc).

Automatic trapping - again at no additional charge - with advanced-generation software that automatically handles most traps. (For special situations that require additional off-line trapping, we supply an estimate before initiating any work).

Scanning - from transparencies, prints and negatives - on a high-resolution drum or flat-bed scanner at competitive prices.

Automatic impositioning of art work - directly from disk to film - into printer's flats, ready for plating. This step not only eliminates the expense of "stripping" single page film obtained from a service bureau, it also shortens the prepress-to-printing cycle.

4-color match proofing - directly from disk or from separated 4-color film. For proofing directly from disk (part of the CTP process), we use the Epson Stylus Pro 5000 System. It generates remarkably accurate and vibrant color proofs on Epson paper stocks - gloss or matte, coated or uncoated - so you can realistically evaluate how your job will print on the paper you've selected.

There's even more proofing flexibility with our Dupont Waterproofs - the system we use to generate proofs from separated film. In addition to being able to proof on most paper stocks, the Waterproof system will also proof dull or gloss coatings (spot or flood) as well as several metallic and PMS colors. Consequently, it's an ideal solution when you want to show your client exactly how a coating and/or match color(s) will look.

Digital archiving - a system for storing and retrieving files which have been prepared for printing
